Our Christmas night market promises to bring you an evening of festive fun that’s not to be missed. We’ve got street food coming out of our ears, marvellous mulled wine to warm even the coldest of cockles, Culture Cuts DJs bringing you festive sounds, a brand new light project curated by Light Collective, Sherry O’Clock with Jane Parkinson, wine tasting with A Grape Night In, a fiddle and guitar duo from Licence to Ceilidh playing some Celtic music to get you dancing, plus a fabulous selection of London’s finest designer makers offering you the perfect opportunity to shop for unique, last minute stocking fillers!

Shop for unique last minute Christmas gifts including jewellery, art, photographs, antiques, hand-printed and painted clothing and accessories, silk screen prints, eco-friendly baby and children’s clothes, artisan soaps and body care products, handmade chocolates, cakes, cheeses, charcuterie and wine by the bottle.

Light Project

Light Collective take time out from their world travels to undertake a community project close to home. Our previous collaborators, the children from Boutcher Primary School helped create our ‘Little Lampholders’ project. Each child was asked to bring in a lamp or illuminated object from their home. They were then photographed with their own light and seasonal creations were made using a selection of the lamps. The portraits will be projected in a large scale onto a building in Bermondsey Square.

Sherry O’Clock

We’re absolutely delighted that cheerleader for the reinvention of sherry, Jane Parkinson (one of The Wine Gang), will also be returning to The StockMKT with her inimitable sherry tastings!

Jane collected the Chairman’s Award at the Louis Roederer International Awards for “rising rocket-like” through the world of wine writing. She is also Wine Editor at Large for Restaurant magazine and the wine expert for Stylist magazine.

Wine Tasting

Wine tasting duo, A Grape Night In, will be bringing their festive banter and quirky Christmas wines to The StockMKT. Join them for a series of mini Christmas tastings in the Bermondsey Square Hotel foyer, or visit their stall for that all important Christmas dinner wine by the bottle. Pre-book your tasting slots here.

Founders, Laura and Kiki who started this delightful pop-up wine company are part of a new generation of wine-lovers, breathing life, youth and excitement into wine tasting. White table clothes are banished and individuality welcomed.

Head on down to Bermondsey Square to kick off your Christmas celebrations in style. Wrap up warm and soak up the atmosphere. You won’t regret it!

We’re bringing our special blend of street food and music to create a unique, magical atmosphere in a brand new location as part of Elephant and Castle’s Annual Creative Festival. Let’s party!

We recreate the buzz and atmosphere of Taipei, Shanghai and Bangkok… but with a distinctly London feel.

Tailored to each location where it appears, The StockMKT is a welcoming night market with no pretensions that demonstrates the very best of what London has to offer in a relaxed, fun, family-friendly environment.

What to expect…
Some of London’s best street food vendors will be cooking up a mouth-watering menu of culinary delights…

There will also be plenty of opportunities to spend your hard-earned cash on the unique and unusual provided by a select bunch of creative, independent makers and retailers, all with a distinctly local flavour.

But it doesn’t stop there! There will be charming bespoke lighting, a modern twist on the traditional Chinese lantern…

Following the success of our pilot StockMKT in Bermondsey Square last December, we’re back on Friday 27th April, 5.30pm – 10.00pm with further dates lined up in June, August, September and November. The StockMKT will also be ‘on tour’ in other London locations in 2012: we’ll keep you in the loop.

If you couldn’t make it to the December StockMKT, click here to see our film footage of the night. While last year was great, 2012 is gonna be bigger, bolder and brassier! This time we have lined up:

• More delicious street food, from some of London’s finest street food vendors. You may say “But of course, we expect that!” however, we will be debuting some new delicacies such as: ‘proper posh kebabs’ and Japanese Pom Poms.
• Cocktails with a London twist (not just more mojitos!) and, in line with our Far East inspiration, ‘Bubble Tea’.
• Live music from the fabulous Albert Ball’s Flying Aces – sure to put a swing into everyone’s step!
• Loads more stalls, with new food products, crafts, vintage clothes and art from the likes of local Underdog Gallery, Bike Parka and X-Ray Fog – supporting all that is sustainable, recycled, upcycled and local where possible.
• Tunes from our super-DJ friends from Culture Cuts Collective, who since their StockMKT debut have worked with everybody from Kid Koala to DJ Krush. Expect anything from Mongolian throat singing to northern soul; skiffle to Brazilian Jabba Jubba (okay we made the last one up, but you get the idea…)
• A very special outdoor light installation, created by local Boutcher Primary School pupils in collaboration with world-renowned guerrilla artists, Light Collective.
